Shrub or Miniature

Planted: Summer 2001
Source: Mail Order

Miniature? I don't think so! Definitely a shrub rose, and an outstanding one at that.

This is the cleanest plant in my garden. Never any disease at all, dense and shrubby to the ground with a terrific rounded shape. An excellent landscaping plant. It covers itself with huge numbers of sunny yellow single blooms all season long. They are self-cleaning too, so it isn't necessary to deadhead. In fact, this rose will set tiny hips and keep on blooming! No scent though.

I've never pruned it - just shaped it a little while deadheading, and it's over 3' tall and wide.

It's an incredibly vigorous rose, too. It started as a tiny band in the summer of 2001 and, because it was classed a 'mini' I placed it at the front of the border. LOL - you can see for yourself just how 'miniature' it is!
