Bonica Shrub Rose; Meilland, 1987
Date Planted: April 5, 1998 Source: Jackson & Perkins Exposure: Full sun
Bonica is considered one of the
easiest, most 'bullet-proof' roses to grow. It is a real workhorse bloom machine, absolutely covered with pink blooms. They're not particularly fragrant, but there's so many of them that I
can overlook it. The foliage is particularly attractive - rather small, dark green, finely toothed with a red edge. It is happiest and looks its best when kept only lightly pruned. I keep mine at about 5' high. To see more photos, visit the Photo Gallery!
