(click an area for a larger view, with descriptive mouseovers) The front yard was initially planted in 1996-1997; the front parking strip in 1997-1998. The back yard was planted in 2001. This was the year when my tastes changed, focusing my interest upon OGRs, particularly Teas and Chinas. As you can see, I still have some planting space left in the back yard proper, and that entire glorious parking strip! Naturally, there have been many changes and this diagram is woefully out-of-date as I seem to forever be playing catch-up with myself. I'm working on a new one - I completely changed my plan when I added the new raised bed ajoining the garage. The space between the house and garage is where I now have my propagation greenhouse. As I gain experience I begin to see my roses from a different perspective. The non-performers, many of which I presume to be virused, will be removed to make room for newcomers; time and space are simply too precious to waste on dud roses. In fact, this year (2003) I've adopted out many of the patented plants shown here and have replanted with OGRs & old modern roses. The updated version of this diagram will be posted as soon as I find the time to finish it.
