Hybrid Tea, Baines, 1949

Date Planted: 2001 (potted)
Source: Trade
Exposure: Full sun

Although classified as a Hybrid Tea, this plant grows very much like many of the more robust Tea roses. The growth isn't nearly as heavy and upright as most modern HTs and the blooms have a slight tendency to nod, which I find quite charming. The blooms are exquisite - a lovely blend of pink and cream, with a delightful fragrance. Repeat is fast and reliable, and the foliage remains quite clean without spraying (your mileage may vary.) Vigor is very good - this is one HT that does very well on its own roots and deserves to be much more widely grown.
