Eugene de Beauharnais Hybrid China; Hardy, 1837Date Planted: June 2001 Source:
Uncommon Rose Exposure: Full sun
This rose has not proven as
vigorous out of the gate as some of the others, but it was a smaller plant to start with. It is growing and blooming well, but I will need to keep an eye on it this winter.
The 3" blooms are a bright fushia purple and quite fragrant. The plant itself does not have the typical China growth; it is a bit stouter, less airy, with somewhat heavier wood. This rose is going
to need some time to develop it's potential. CROAKED 2002 Return to China Roses
