Gabriel Noyelle (Gabrielle Noyelle) Moss; Emmanuel Buatois, 1933Date Planted: June 2001 Source: Mail Order
Beautiful blooms, but the worst mildew magnet I've ever seen. It looks like a flocked Christmas tree most of the time.Imagine 6' tall canes bristling with scads of bristly thorns... and
big white patches of mildew on the canes. The blooms are lovely, but they blow in no time and are at the top of these canes, which are too stiff to peg. The moss on the buds smells good and would
be really pretty, if it weren't flocked by all the freakin' mildew. This sucker needs to go live in the desert somewhere, 'cause I will not spray him. Update:
I shovel-pruned him and gave him to a friend who will feed his jones for antifungal sprays. To see more photos, visit the Photo Gallery! Return to Remontant Old Garden Roses |
