Marbrée
Portland; Moreau, 1858

Date Planted: July 2003
Source: Mail Order

This utterly charming rose is different from most other superficially similar roses in that the petals are spotted and splashed with a lighter shade of pink. It is subtle and isn't really noticable until you get quite close to the blooms - you notice it when you approach to smell them. And smell them you will, for the fragrance is rich and delicious.

The plant is a tidy, compact grower that usually maxes out at about 4' tall. So far, the foliage has been very clean without spraying. This is a really cool rose.
