This is a new color for English roses - shimmering copper, more vibrant on the inside, softer, more yellow on the outside. David Austin named this variety for his wife. The deeply cupped blossoms have a strong old rose/fruit fragrance.

The plant has grown into a 4' x 4' shrub with a nice rounded, arching, twiggy shape.  She will bloom on very thin wood.

I've seen this rose criticized for it's nodding habit, but I find it rather charming in arrangements.  The fragrance is astonishing, a blend of old rose with melon, and guaranteed to induce hunger pangs.  It's been quite healthy in my no-spray Darwinian garden - a little blackspot, but nothing disfiguring.  The new canes and foliage are reddish, and quite lovely.  New thorns are large, red and somewhat translucent.  Very pretty!
