Alice B. Chittenden: Roses & Lillacs, 1895
There are a lot of classes of Old Garden Roses.  I grow enough Chinas, Teas and climbing OGRs to merit their own sections, but the rest of my Old Garden Roses belong to many different classes.  For this reason, I have seperated them into two groups:  remontant (reblooming) and non-remontant (once blooming.)  This section covers the former of the two groups.

C. Loumand - the Rose BushThese roses cover many different extremes in term of growth habit, plant size, flower form and fragrance.  Some make outstanding garden plants with almost no intervention from us (other than food and water) while others require careful pruning or training (such as pegging) to look their best.  Some make better cut flowers than others.  Some are tall enough to make short climbers or to place at the rear of the border; others are shorter and are naturals for the front row.  Some are quite disease resistant; others tend to go through cyclic periods of rattiness in no-spray gardens such as mine.

Almost all of these are new additions to my garden, and I do not have photos and full information posted for many of these.  Please check back often, as this section will be undergoing a lot of changes in the near future.
