Souvenir de la Malmaison Rouge
Bourbon; Gonod, 1882

Date Planted: still in 2-gallon pot
Source: trade

A 'sport' of the beloved Bourbon rose 'Souvenir de la Malmaizon'. Despite the name, the blooms aren't really red - they are more of a deep, warm pink in color. The blooms aren't identical in shape either, but as both of these are young roses and still in pots, the blooms may more closely resemble the original with maturity.

It does smell every bit as wonderful as the original, though!
