Seafoam Modern Shrub; Schwartz, 1964
Date Planted: May 21, 1998 Source: J & P, local nursery Exposure: Full sun all day
The first and still one of the finest landscape roses, 'Seafoam' covers itself with clusters of eyecatching, creamy-white, double blooms that are set off by the glossy, dark-green
foliage. A vigorous, trailing rose that is covered continuously with masses of bloom. Supposedly 2 - 3 feet tall by 6 feet wide, although mine is a bit larger than that. Not much fragrance.
Mine is growing around and through neighboring plants, peeking up through the jungle with charming clusters of blooms. I'm sure it would be even happier with more space, but it looks so cute like this that I can't bear
to move it. I'll have to try it as a climber or weeping over the top of a wine barrel - this one is worth growing two of. To see more photos, visit the Photo Gallery!
