Traviata (MEIlavio)
Romantica; Meilland, France, 1996 (Meigano x Tanaloap) x (Ausroyal)Date Planted: 3/2000 Source: Star bareroot, local nursery Exposure: Full sun all day
According to the Star Roses website: "Boisterous like a true Italian opera this Hybrid tea demands attention in any setting. Four-inch blooms of clear vibrant
red top the sturdy stems of Traviata. Fully double, old-fashioned blooms are not only sturdy but also long lasting. The disease resistance of the foliage defies the rules and is possibly one of the best in its
class." Terrific foliage; dark, glossy, abundant and very healthy. Prolific bloomer, but it tends to
ball in wet weather, and burn in the summer sun. When Mother Nature cooperates, the blooms are lovely though! I moved it in 2002 to the morning-sun side of my house, under
the eaves... and balling and burning are officially a thing of the past. To see more photos, visit the Photo Gallery!
